VOIP ReviewsUse Your Head When You Read VoIP ReviewsIf you're considering trying voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) for making telephone calls, you undoubtedly will want to learn as much as you can about it. Even if you understand the technology…or even if you don't care how it works…you'll want to make an informed choice when you choose a service provider. You might compare it to choosing a cell phone provider except that there are even more bringing you VoIP. Just as with your regular telephone, your main goal is probably to get the most bang for your buck. In other words you want the calls to be clear with no drop-offs, at least the basic extras such as messaging, call waiting, call forwarding, and caller ID, and you don't want to spend a fortune. One of the main attractions of this Internet calling ability is that you can save a lot of money, as you'll see in just about any VoIP reviews that you read. There are actually some handy websites that let you compare the many providers side-by- side. You can see what features they offer, how much they charge per month, long- distance calling costs if any, and the type of equipment you'll need. These sites are great because they let you see at a glance who offers what. They also in many cases give you customer feedback in the form of VoIP reviews. The only problem with these is that sometimes only a few people have responded so you don't get a very broad spectrum of users. Other places to look on the Internet are some of the sites that write about computer technology. There are also a number of good magazines that write VoIP reviews. Many of these companies have print and Internet issues. The main thing you'll want to know about in addition to cost is how clear the calls are. There are dozens of VoIP service providers; some brand new and some with a bit of experience. All of the current telephone companies are trying to get in on the action, but you'll need to remember that this is actually a new industry for them. Before you sign up, be sure that the company offers at least a 30-day period for you to evaluate the service with no cancellation fee.
