Residential VOIPPeople are Liking Residential VoIPResidential VoIP is a fairly new technology. It replaces your old telephone lines by letting you make your calls over the Internet. Those who have taken the plunge love many of its features…especially the nice low phone bills. Because it's new, there are a number of companies competing for the spot of number one service provider, and some of them still have glitches. In time though, they will sort themselves out and the most efficient will naturally rise to the top. We've seen this over the years with other technological innovations. People who travel for business or pleasure seem to be among those most pleased. They can take a small adapter with them and plug it into the computer at their hotel. There they easily retrieve their calls via voicemail or email. If they don't want to miss any talk time, they may also forward their calls to their cell phones. It's interesting to note that for years we took our calls when we were available, and now we feel the need to be connected twenty-four-seven. We do fine without a certain capability, but once introduced, we can't seem to live without it. Cell phones were a good start and now with VoIP on the scene, there may be no escape from the telephone. Residential VoIP is starting to really catch on. As people discover the money they can Save, they're becoming more and more interested in the product. Like the Internet before it, people didn't pay a lot of attention at first, as it started out as a business product. Now however, word is getting out and consumers are listening. They can have all the conveniences of their current phone service without paying separately for each one. For one monthly fee, usually much lower than their hard-wired phones, they can have voice mail, call forwarding, caller ID, calls via email, and long distance international calling for little or no extra charge. These are only a few of the extras you may have access to when you subscribe to residential VoIP. Other Voice Over IP / VOIP articles |
