Long Distance LearningIs long distance learning right for you?One of the best ways to pursue an education is through long distance learning. Online programs are a great way to take classes, advance your education and learn more - all while coordinating your schedule around work or family needs. Long distance learning programs let an individual sign up for a class, receive course materials, ask questions of the instructor and complete assignments all via a computer connection. Distance learning is a great solution for a lot of people. But it's not the perfect choice for everyone. There are some characteristics that make it easier for someone to complete a distance education program. Those who will be the most successful as long distance learners share the following characteristic - self-motivated Are you motivated to learn and complete assignments on your own, or do you need someone to keep you on track? If you don't have a problem staying excited about a class, than long distance learning could be for you. If you need a class or an instructor to keep your enthusiasm level up, you may want to consider the traditional classroom environment. If you tend to procrastinate, you may find distance learning difficult. Unlike traditional classroom learning, you won't have an instructor demanding classroom assignments on a regular basis. You'll need to keep yourself on track. Long distance learners also need to be able to resist distractions. If you find yourself too easily distracted by television, kids, other job responsibilities, etc., this might not be the time to enroll in a long distance learning program.
