Find Your Low Rate Credit Card or Even More than one Credit Cards

Today it’s practically a requirement for all of us to have at least one credit card. If you do any traveling then it’s definitely necessary. You’ll need it to hold your hotel room and your rental card. Also if you ever order tickets to entertainment events or buy products online, it’s pretty difficult to do so without that handy piece of plastic. The trick of course is to find a low rate credit card. There are so many companies out there issuing credit cards, that it can be a chore to find out which one offers the best deal.

The first thing to know about qualifying for a low rate credit card is that your credit
should be excellent. That doesn’t mean you can’t get a card, it just means that those with the best credit history get the best rates on their credit cards. Other things to look for are to set-up fees and no annual rate. If you have good credit and you’re charged for these things, you definitely need to get back to the drawing board. There is no reason for you to pay these…except in one case. A card with an annual fee may charge less interest. If you plan to always carry a balance from month to month, this may be your best bet.

The main thing to be aware of is that there is a lot of fine print in any low rate credit card; or any other for that matter. They tend to put all their rules and regulations in very small print and very stilted language. They do this in hopes of discouraging you from reading it through from beginning to end. That’s exactly what you should do, however. There may be hidden charges in there. For example that low, low rate on those credit cards may expire in a few months. So, for your own good, take the time to read all of that fine print.

Another point to make a self-imposed rule—don’t take cash advances against your card. They even put the fact that the interest on those balances is much higher than it is on charges. Borrowing money on your credit cards can end up costing you hundreds of dollars more than what you actually used. There are plenty of low rate credit cards out there, just be sure to do your homework carefully and thoroughly before you sign up for one.
